We’ll be serving a comforting lineup of vegan Mexican favourites, including mushroom birria tacos, tacos de guisados, ensalada de nopal, guacamole, complemented by ponche &agua fresca, and candied pumpkin for dessert.

Cooked mushrooms “painted” with our homemade adobo, served with roasted bell peppers, sprinkled with onion and coriander, topped with our signature salsa in soft tacos. Served with its own mushroom consommé.

Guisados – Traditional Mexican Stews – £9.9 (3 tacos) | £13.9 (5 tacos)
Tender slow-cooked fillings served in a rice bowl with tortillas, or as ready-to-eat tacos:

  • Artichoke Tinga – tender artichoke hearts slowly simmered in smoky chipotle & tomato sauce
  • Papas en Guajillo – roasted potatoes in aromatic guajillo chili sauce
  • Espinacha a la Mexicana – sautéed spinach with onions, garlic, and epazote

Zsolt, Owner & Head Chef

El Dorado is born from a deep dedication to authentic Mexican cuisine and cultural heritage, passed down through generations of family recipes. This rich tradition began with Don Jose’s grandmothers and is now continued by Elizabeth and Zsolt, who aim to bring the true essence of Mexican flavours to Edinburgh, Scotland.

Elizabeth brings her family’s time-honored recipes, while Zsolt offers his extensive expertise in restaurant management. Together, they are committed to delivering an authentic food experience that fills a gap in Scotland’s culinary scene, offering genuine Mexican flavours that are often underrepresented.

At El Dorado Taquería, we bring you authentic Mexican cuisine inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Michoacán.

Our Michoacán-style Beef Birria, slow-cooked for 8 hours with a blend of spices, is served with succulent tacos and a rich consommé. You can also savour our street-style Esquites, sweet and tender Pan de Elote, refreshing Aguas Frescas, and aromatic Café de Olla, each carefully crafted. From the satisfying crunch of esquites to the bold flavours of birria, every bite captures the essence of traditional Mexican cooking.
